Our holiday in Tenerife was really nice. (See my previous
post to learn where the island is located.) We had a really nice room with a sea view. The balcony we had was right next to a stream (man-made), and we got lots of sun there! We spent most of the time just hanging out by the pool or on our balcony. We went to the shows the resort had scheduled each night. They were fun! The food was pretty good. We spent one evening at the spa, and then we had a couple's massage that ended with us escorted to a balcony in bath robes to watch the sunset with a glass of champagne! It was really nice. Our last day was spent touring the island. We saw such marvelous places! Hope you enjoy the pictures! I posted lots... Click to enlarge them if you wish.
We took the Megabus to Glasgow where we stayed overnight. Our flight with Thomas Cook airlines was early that morning.
Later that day we arrived at Sandos San Blas Nature Resort and Golf.
We really enjoyed our view!

I feel like this picture above really catches the mood of our vacation perfectly. |

See us in the sunglasses? |

Beatles Tribute band. They were so good! |
|
We had to have room service at least once! |
|
Kayaking? Yes please. It was such a small "lake" that 2 laps around it only took us about 10-15 minutes, but it was still fun! |
We took a walk along the coastline one day. The sound of the waves rolling down the stones on the beach was really interesting. We sat on one of the lower cliffs just watching and listening until sunset.
|
Tenerife has some beautiful sunsets. These pictures weren't altered. |
There is a nature reserve on site, so we took a walk around it one day. The way the rocks have been weathered is really strange.

This looks like a picture of a picture doesn't it? It's just looking through the window. |
Here begins our tour of the island starting with the most important part of course, our transportation.
Pico Viejo
Mt. Tiede at 12,200 feet (3,718 metres)

We were told that they filmed Planet of the Apes and Clash of the Titans here. I get it. It really does look like a different planet. |
On the road again....

Going to see El Drago in Icod |

Real purty!!!!! What was the weather like? I see long sleeves and pants. Did y'all get tans? :)
ReplyDeleteWe got tans, yes! We were able to tan at the resort if it wasn't too windy. The wind was chilly. Out and about around the resort we wore shorts. It was in the low-mid 70's (19-21C). We we toured the island, we were up above the cloud level at one point. It was colder up there, so we needed a light jacket sometimes. The island is really pretty! I was surprised that it wasn't tropical and looked more like Arizona! Guess I didn't really know what to expect.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
