Hello! My name is Kristal, and I grew up in a small town in Texas where the only thing to do was play PacMan at the laundromat. I started this blog when I moved to Scotland, and I'd like to begin again. Let the adventures begin.

I've given up on natural face care - Dry skin - Active lifestyle
Yep. I've given up. I tried Argan oil; it made my foundation sink into my wrinkles and wasn't good enough for my dry skin. I tried Olay for sensitive skin, and it made my face itchy and red. Crazy! I tried Benefit, and although it felt nice, it had a strong fragrance and gave me acne. I used the All Good Things products but they didn't seem to clean well enough for somebody as active as me. My breakouts never cleared..even after the entire bottle.

I use products from paulaschoice.com
ReplyDeleteAll of their products are fragrance and dye free. for sensitive skin. Not sure of they ship overseas though...
Love everything I've used from there- acne products, deep moisturizers, sunblock, shampoo, conditioner, oil controlling products. Great stuff!
I'm a native Houstonian, (Okay, from Katy) living in Aberdeen since October 2013. From the heat and humidity of Houston to the cold and dry of Aberdeen my "glowing" skin is in a snit. I found Palmer's cocoa butter works wonders. Boots carries N0 7 products. I like them as well but Palmer's is my go to cure all. Give it a try
ReplyDeleteThanks Kate! Unfortunately, high concentrations of cocoa butter give me hives. :( I really like the smell of it! So sad. I hope that you are enjoying Aberdeen. Are you part of the AWA?
ReplyDeleteThanks!! I'll look into it!
ReplyDeleteVitamin E perhaps? I love Aberdeen and Scotland. Just a few adjustment issues with the temps. Truly miss my heat. I've not heard of AWA. Is this an expat group? I joined Internations but it is not quite the type organization I'm looking for. Is AWA, AWA Aberdeen on FB?
ReplyDeleteHi Kate. Thanks again for the ideas! I'm glad to hear you are enjoying Scotland. The AWA is the Association of American Women of Aberdeen (http://awaaberdeen.org/). They are very active. They coordinate/plan lots of activities (Groups for knitting, lunch meetups, coffee, hill walking, crafts, etc.,), meetings, and events. Please feel free to contact me using the form at the bottom of the page (I don't want to post my e-mail here), and I can send you more information if you are interested. It's a great group with about 180 members. Our first meeting is in September. There is also a Newcomer's Coffee sometime in early September as well. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteMany thank yous! This is the type group I was hoping to find. I am very interested. I will contact you privately.
