Coffee and Lunch in Aberdeen - Bite Me, MacBEANS, and Caffe Crema

"A day without coffee is like something without something."

Isn't that funny? Well, if you don't drink coffee, you probably don't think so. It made me giggle. hehe. Again. I love good coffee. Hell, when I'm tired enough, I love like tolerate bad coffee... like Nescafe. Okay, maybe that's going to far. Folgers? Sugar cube?... uh no. That displaces 1 cubic centimeter of coffee. Anyway, I kept hearing about a place in Aberdeen to get good coffee beans, and I finally got around after a year (I kept hoping to find something I loved at the more convenient grocery store) to visiting the place. MacBEANS (Facebook Page Link - Here). You'll find this little gem on Little Belmont Street. Most coffees are priced between £4.40-£4.60 for a 250g bag, unless you get the very special Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee, which they say is "one of the most desired and expensive coffees in the world" at £22.00 per 250g. They also have some blends named after the city, such as the Granite City blend. I think these would make great gifts to bring to people you are visiting outside of Scotland.

MacBEANS coffee can also be bought at Caffe Crema, one of my favorite coffee shops. They make excellent coffee and yummy sandwiches! I went there today with my friend, and we both ordered pulled pork tacos. That's right... tacos. They were fantastic!

Another place to get a good sandwich is Bite Me. They are rated really highly on TripAdvisor. I gave it a try last week. VERY GOOD. They also offer gluten free options for sandwiches, soup, and pasta. They recommend ordering ahead, but you can just walk into the place to order if you don't mind waiting a bit. Here is their card. He wrote a number on it in marker, which I'm assuming he did because the phone number changed after the cards were made.
