Have a Merry Christmas!

Hello All!

I hope that you have a very Merry Christmas! I'm making this my last post this year due to how busy we will be until then. We have some traveling and a visit from a friend coming soon. We are also working on some investments that have been time consuming. Plenty of things must be done before traveling (we always drive to so many places with visitors!), such as getting new tyres for the car. I've found that Costco and and Kwik-Fit are great places to look! Anyway, here is the trailer for my favorite Christmas movie for you viewing pleasure. :o)

What's your favorite Christmas movie?

Juan Valdez Coffee, Frenchies, and Holiday Hat Fun

I took the dogs to the park this morning, and we ran into Eddie the Frenchie! I threw the Frisbee, and all the dogs ran after it. Angel got there first, and then Eddie and Frog chased her in circles! Then, Eddie and Angel got into a tug of war match. In the end, Eddie won.

I also tried a new coffee today that Steve's friend, Rodrigo brought us from Columbia. Have you heard of Juan Valdez coffee? It's really nice! You may have to order it on Amazon to find it, but it's worth it in my opinion.

In other news, hats are fun. Silly holiday hats pretty much come with a mandatory requirement to wear them and take pictures. So naturally, Tekara and I being the rule-followers that we are, did just that. The girls in front of us were laughing, and not because they thought we were weird, but because they had just done the same thing! haha

Yes, that IS a turkey.

Live Music in Aberdeen, Scotland

Now that I've been here for a year, I'm finally starting to find some of those lesser-known locations or those that are just a little off the grid so you don't happen by them every day. One thing Steve and I really enjoy is live music. There are a few places you can go in Aberdeen for this:

O'Neill's in Aberdeen
They have live music every Friday and Saturday. From what I've seen, the bands usually start around 9-9:30 PM.

"From Irish folk to indie and beyond, if there's a sound or scene that gets you going, you're likely to find it here."

My stepdad and I!
The Tunnels
It's in a bit of a dodgy-looking location, but worth a visit. These guys don't get enough visibility I think. There are three different rooms, each with a bar. We went there for a charity concert last weekend.

The Globe
They have live music every Friday and Saturday night. It's crammed full of people each time I've been to see the bands. Everybody is having a good time singing and dancing!

Downstairs
This venue is just below the Malt Mill. There is a full bar and pool tables.

Captain Tom's
This is more of a rehearsal/recording studio, but they also host live music events sometimes. You can e-mail them or dig around the website for more information.

My Birthday! - Yorokobi and The Globe

What a great birthday! I went with friends to Yorokobi for sushi and then out to The Globe for some live music. Steve wasn't able to attend because he forgot about his work Christmas party being scheduled that night and had bought a ticket. Unfortunately, he was struck with a terrible virus that gave him a fever of 102°F (39°C) for three days, so he didn't get to go to that either. He is better now. :o)  Special thanks to Ana for some of the pictures.

It's funny to have pictures where people are in the middle of conversations... hehe

You think they are having fun?

Time to open gifts! Such thoughtful friends, aren't they?

When I get too emotional... sometimes I just stick out my tongue to avoid being awkward.. lol

Oh yeah.. I'm like a kid... SO excited

I can't be bothered with pictures just now; I'm trying to learn about Axonite.

Next stop was The Globe for some live music!

CHEESE! Ana and her husband Dan.

Good times.
Good friends.
Good memories.

Oh yeah, let's not forget my birthday gift to myself:
"EXTERMINATE!"

Also, Steve took me out the next night when he was feeling better. We went to The Moonfish Cafe. Everything was so good that I couldn't even think about anything else, so I didn't take any pictures. Best. Food. I've. Had. In. Aberdeen.

AWA Christmas Luncheon

Last week we had the AWA Christmas Luncheon at the Cults Hotel. It was such a nice place, and the food was really good! We had a good turnout. There was a table with props that you could use to take pictures. Emily put together a nice slideshow! We had a Christmas ornament gift exchange, and I won a door prize!! It was good fun! Enjoy the pictures.

Chicken and Duck Liver Pate... don't hate.. it was YUMMY

I love the paper crowns worn at Christmas here... and I love winning stuff!
